Questions you're probably asking
- Do I have to publish it? Or can I just keep the editable copy for myself?
- Keep it. Most people will. The $9 unlock is yours forever — edit, save, print, share with family. Publishing to our store is purely optional.
- How quickly can I publish after I unlock?
- As fast as you can write. Most authors take a weekend to customize. We review submissions within 5 business days, then it goes live in our store.
- Can I sell the same guide on Gumroad, Etsy, my own blog?
- Yes. We don't require exclusivity. We just ask that you don't use the American Dream Trip brand or logos on those other listings.
- What happens to my $9 if my guide doesn't sell?
- Nothing — you still have an editable copy of your trip with your photos baked in. You haven't lost anything. The $9 mostly pays for the unlock, not the publishing.
- When and how do I get paid?
- Monthly, on the 1st, for the previous month's sales. By Stripe transfer or PayPal — your choice. If you earn more than $600 in a year we send you a 1099-NEC.
- What about photos — does the AI add them, or do I?
- You do. Photos from real trips are the secret sauce. Buyers can tell the difference between a stock-photo guide and one made by someone who actually drove it.
- Can I update my guide after it's published?
- Yes. Edit it anytime; just message us when you want the live version updated. Stops close, prices change, your kid grows up — your guide can grow with it.
- Is this for me if I'm not a writer?
- Yes — that's the whole point. You start with a draft that's already written. You don't have to write a guide from scratch. You just have to make it sound like you.
